OUR PLACE
For more than 100 years, the land that is now Port San Antonio has been a center for innovation. Established in 1917 as the site of the former Kelly Air Force Base—where chapters in aviation history were written—the Port has redeveloped the property over the past 20 years to focus on the continued evolution of global technologies.
Today, marquee names in aerospace, manufacturing, cybersecurity, robotics and other technologically advanced industries conduct an array of projects on our large site.

OUR PLAN
CONNECTING TALENT, EDUCATION, AND INDUSTRY
We’ve created an Innovation Showroom and Education Center that connects buyers and sellers as the first step in growing an Innovation Campus. The Boeing Center at Tech Port opened in 2022. The 130,000 square-foot technology showplace:
- Generates interest in, and provides a place for, the delivery of tech careers and education opportunities
- Creates opportunities to showcase technologies and capabilities available to key industries
- Connects academic institutions with commercial, industrial, and government markets
- Generates opportunities for creative collaboration between innovators and key industries
- Augments and support the work of institutions of higher education focused on addressing national security priorities

THE COMPONENTS
Technology Museum & Industry Showroom
The center provides Area 21, provided by San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology (SAMSAT), a platform to expand its work connecting young people to futures in advanced technologies through unique exhibits and innovative STEM programs.
This space plays many important roles—giving audiences a glimpse into innovations and related careers in their community.
The center also serve as a showroom—much like a permanent world’s fair pavilion with rotating exhibits—that allows industry participants to sell their technologies locally, nationally and globally.
Tech Collaboration Lab
This large space equipped with state-of-the-art prototyping tools and IT infrastructure which includes operations by Tech Port Studios, allow technology firms, researchers and academia to work side-by-side and develop the next generation of innovations. The space can be configured for users ranging from startups to large tech firms and partnering universities.
Technology Arena and Conference Center
This large capacity arena is like no other in the region—equipped with A/V and LAN technology and highly configurable. The multi-use facility can host electronic gaming, robotics, cybersecurity and drone tournaments and also support technology demonstrations, conferences, training activities, trade shows, and live entertainment.
Its a magnet for the public, industry and educators alike, with a capacity of 3,100 guests.

The Google Arts & Culture, a global digital initiative that highlights some of the world’s most important historic, cultural and artistic locations and organizations, has highlighted our presence as a technology hub.
